Now motorola has started giving OTA update of Android M on moto E 2nd gen devices ,i.e., the 4g version and the 3g version.
Both the devices are capable of running Android M but not with that great experience that we get on other Motorola devices, like the moto G or the moto X.
From the hardware side, the 1 GB ram on both the devices can handle the Android M but not fluidly. The processor is also not that much great on these two devices,i.e., the snapdragon 210 Chipset.Adding to that con is the 8 GB rom which won't be able to provide that much storage left for the device.
Despite of these problems the Android M can be used in Motorola E 2nd gen.
If you are a person who likes Android M, then you may go for the update, but there is one more way of getting the Android M experience, you may download the Google Now launcher from the play store.
VERDICT:
If you can manage with the Google Now launcher,I suggest you to not to go for the update.
